1992 – The first iteration of the CJB is born with members Chris Johnson, Tommy Alderson, Jimmy Pritchard, Chris Sherlock and Mike Rapp beginning rehearsals for Message From the Heart. Chris Johnson begins preproduction on CD with Marc Moss.
1994 – Start recording Message From the Heart at Target Recording Studios with Marc Moss
1996 – Message From the Heart CD release party at the Polo Club in Greenville,DE.
1996 – 1999 – Wrote and rehearsed at the famous Shack in St. Georges, DE and recorded New Span for an Old Bridge at Target
1999 – CD release party at the Porky Oliver Golf Club Terrace Restaurant for New Span for an Old Bridge
2000’s – Brad Fish joins the band on drums while Jerry Kirk comes in on bass. Work is started on Wrong Way Home
2005 – Wrong Way Home is released
2005 – 2007 – Release and record at the Baby Grand in Wilmington, DE with Marc Moss, who is resident sound engineer and our longtime collaborator
2007 – Do a show at the Baby Grand at the Grand Opera House in Wilmington, DE with special guest Wayne Watson, which leads to the new CD Connect on which he plays.
2009 – Tommy Alderson leaves to tour with Deep Purple as Steve Morse’s guitar tech but continues to write songs with Johnson and rehease with the band when in town.
2011 – Work begins on the most recent album, Connect, which again features special guests such as Dave Uosikkenen of the Hooter’s, Wayne Watson of the Bluerocks, and Nate Grower.
2012 – 2013 – Brad takes a job in Emergency Management with Sunoco and leaves the band. Dave Uosikkinen cuts tracks at Target on several songs. Tommy comes back in town from touring with Deep Purple. Marc comes down from New York, where he’s moved his studio and at the beginning of 2013 they complete Connect with Brad Fish back as a special guest.
2013 – Connect is released, this time for downloading, streaming and on all other forms of access along with traditional CD.
2014 – 2016 – In between tours with Deep Purple, Tommy Alderson and Chris Johnson continue to write and play music. Sharon Gould joins on bass and Thomas Alderson comes in on drums, which leads to two new songs and many ideas for a new project, all while perfecting their sound.
2017 – Two new songs are being recorded at Tommy Alderson’s studio. The latest incarnation of the band is Chris Johnson on vocals, Tommy Alderson on guitar, Sharon Gould on bass and Thomas Alderson on drums. They have been playing together for a couple of years now, and are working on a new project while honing their sound for a live show. Keep an eye out for upcoming show dates and album releases
